MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
THIS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING is made this… Day of… 2006 AMONG ALL MEMBERS OF THE PLATFORM OF PLOT 40B, BOMBO ROAD, CAROL HOUSE OF P.O. BOX 7606 KAMPALA (herein after called THE PARTIES PLATFROM) and all parties listed here under:
1. PREAMBLE
ON THE 17TH DAY OF AUGUST, 2006 LEADERS OF VARIOUS POLITICAL PARTIES SAT AT THE ABOVE ADDRESS AND UNANIMOUSLY AGREED TO CONSTITUTE THEMSELVES INTO THE PARTIES PLATFROM WHOSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES ARE AS SET HERE UNDER:

2. THE BASIS OF THE PLATFORM
1. Membership shall be on the basis of a party signatory on the MOU.
2. Membership shall all times retain their legal status as independent registered political parties with their individual rights and entitlements.
3. Each independent party shall be free to join and free to leave provided it does not make derogative statements against the platform after its departure.
4. Each party shall observe a minimum code of conduct and behaviour in the course of transacting the affairs of the platform.
5. A member party that persistently violates the principles contained in our Memorandum of Understanding or which fails to observe the expected minimum code of conduct shall be expelled from the platform upon recommendation of other members.
3. OBJECTIVES
1. To handle all matters of mutual interest that affect all of them.
2. To lobby and network together.
3. To organize public rallies, demonstrations, seminars, debates, etc. together.
4. To release press statements which shall be binding to all member parties.
5. To promote the interests of the platform.
The leadership of the platform shall be on a rotational basis for a period not exceeding six month, renewable. This will comprise of:

2. VICE CHAIRMAN
3. GENERAL SECRETARY
4. TREASURER/SPOKESPERSON
5. COORDINATOR
