1. We demand that inspector general of police should resign
IGP is a trained army officer, trained to deal with rebellion, aggressors and smugglers .He therefore does not know how to handle or guide the force when dealing with civilians.
From the time he started to preside over the force it has slowly lost the ability to handle civilians. Police and its teargas-happy Riot Section is making the life hard for the people of Kampala and other places, in the pretext that they are protecting the central business district. They are making our life very difficult with their indiscriminative teargasing at every opportunity to the population.
The abrupt road barriers cause serious traffic jams which make us lose time and money. We are tired of teargas used on peaceful population. The constitution of Uganda gives us right to demand what we want peacefully and all the demonstrations were peaceful generally. Then does kaihura have to use excessive force on peaceful demonstrators?
What does the police of Uganda want the people to do when they’re demanding their rights?
2. Hypocrisy of old parties.
You are all aware that the old parties are now pulling out from the inter parties committee formed by the president, on their argument that the government is undermining the rule of law.
We told them then, that it was wrong to join interparty dialogue against the one which was in the law (National Consultative Forum). They were never bothered to know why the movement was working against the law, we did advise them that if the movement break the law, it will continue to break other laws. Instead of heeding our counsel, the old parties claimed that we were jealous of them and it was because we were not invited of which the time have proved them wrong.

Therefore we advised them to stop hypocrisy, if they want to stand on the side of the law.
